Stephen Smith and Jennifer Gadow are Family Law Specialists certified by the Arizona State Bar Board of Legal Specialization. The firm is AV Rated which is the highest rating available by Martindale-Hubbell for ethical standards and legal ability. Stephen R. Smith

Stephen R. Smith is a partner in the Phoenix law firm of Fromm Smith & Gadow, P.C. where his practice is limited to complex family law litigation, mediation, and appellate matters. Mr. Smith has been a Certified Specialist in Family Law since 2000 and a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers since 2011 where he served as President of the Arizona Chapter for 2016-17. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America© since 2016 (22nd Ed.) in the field of family law and was recently recognized by said publication as 2017 Family Law “Lawyer of the Year” in Phoenix.
Admitted to the State Bar of Arizona in 1994, Mr. Smith received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Arizona State University in 1991 and his law degree from Whittier College in 1994 where he was a member of the Whittier Law Review. He has been a member of the Family Law Advisory Commission to the Arizona State Bar Board of Legal Specialization since 2008, and was Chairman of the Commission from 2012-2016. He has been a Judge Pro Tem of the Maricopa County Superior Court since 2003. Mr. Smith is a frequent presenter at seminars on all aspects of family law and has served as an adjunct professor for Arizona Summit Law School.
When not practicing law, Steve enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife, Kim, are avid campers and hikers. Steve is also a devoted, life-long Sun Devil Football fan.
Jennifer G. Gadow
Jennifer G. Gadow is a partner at Fromm Smith & Gadow, P.C. where her practice focuses exclusively on complex family law litigation and mediation. Ms. Gadow has been a Certified Specialist in Family Law since 2002. She has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) since 2014. There are only 1650 AAML Fellows across the United States and they are generally recognized by judges and attorneys as preeminent family law practitioners with a high level of knowledge, skill and integrity. She has been named the Volunteer Guardian Ad Litem of the Year and served as a volunteer settlement officer for the Superior Court of Arizona for nearly fifteen years. She currently serves as a Parenting Coordinator.
Admitted to the State Bar of Arizona in 1995, Ms. Gadow received her B.A. in English from the University of California at Berkeley in 1991 and her law degree from the University of Denver in 1994. She has been a program chair and frequent presenter at seminars educating both new and seasoned family law attorneys throughout Arizona. Her expertise has been utilized to update family law legislation and she currently serves on several committees within the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and is on the Arizona Family Law Executive Counsel.
Ms. Gadow has a passion for family law and has worked in that field exclusively since becoming an attorney. She is the mother of two pre-teen children and she enjoys traveling, hiking tall mountains and trail running.
Kathleen Stillman, Associate

Kathleen Stillman is an associate for Fromm Smith & Gadow, with her practice focused solely on family law matters. She brings to her practice thirteen years of teaching experience, advocating for children and working with families. Ms. Stillman has received recognition for community service in the area of legal services and regularly serves as a court-appointed advisor to the court in family law cases.
Ms. Stillman received her Bachelor of Arts Decree in Elementary and Special Education in 1995 from Arizona State University where she attended on an athletic scholarship for volleyball. She obtained her Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Wyoming, graduating Order of the Barrister, in 2001. She was admitted to the Wyoming Bar and practiced law there for four years before moving back to Arizona. Ms. Stillman was admitted to the Arizona State Bar in 2013 and was a sole practitioner prior to joining the legal team of Fromm Smith & Gadow.
Ms. Stillman is married and has two children. When she’s not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, riding horses, and being outdoors.
Jared Sandler, Associate

As an associate for Fromm Smith & Gadow, Jared Sandler focuses his practice solely on family law matters. Mr. Sandler has been awarded the designation of “Rising Star” from SuperLawyers for each year since 2016 and maintains a 10.0 Avvo.com rating. He has also been selected numerous times for awards from the American Institute of Family Law including the Top 40 Under 40 and Ten Best Client Satisfaction Award. Mr. Sandler has previously been recognized by the The National Trial Lawyers for their Top 40 Under 40 award and was given an “AV” rating from his peers, which means that he was deemed to have very high professional ethics and preeminent legal ability. Only lawyers with the highest ethical standards and professional ability receive a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating. In July of 2019 Mr. Sandler was voted Phoenix Magazine Readers’ Pick for Best Divorce Lawyer.
Mr. Sandler received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Arizona and returned to his alma mater to obtain his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law. He was admitted to the Arizona State Bar in 2011 and served as Lead Family Law attorney at another prominent firm prior to joining Fromm Smith & Gadow in 2018.
Mr. Sandler was the 2018 Chair for the Maricopa County Bar Association Family Law Section and facilitates the Family Law Newsletter and Continuing Legal Education seminars to educate attorneys on Family Law issues along with the other members of the board.
When not spending time with his wife and children, Mr. Sandler enjoys rooting for the Arizona Wildcat’s basketball and football programs. He also enjoys the game theory aspects of Texas No Limit Holdem Poker and Fantasy Football.
